MyPC Installation requirements

Windows Server Requirements

The MyPC Server requires the following:

• Microsoft Windows 2016 / 2019 / 2022 / 2025 Server with all the latest Service Packs and updates.
• Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8
• Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) with ASP.NET installed and enabled
• Microsoft SQL Server 2016 / 2017/ 2019 / 2022 (including the free Express Editions*) with the latest Service Pack, installed in Mixed Authentication Mode.

* Microsoft SQL Express Editions can be used they are limited in capacity.

Recommended Windows Server Specification

• 4 core 3 Ghz or better
• 8 GB RAM minimum 16GB RAM or better recommended
• 50 GB free disk space (variable - SQL event data storage)

Virtualised servers are fully supported.
This is a minimum specification; we will consult with you regarding the sizing for your implementation.

Windows Client Software Requirements

The MyPC Windows Client requires the following:

• Microsoft Windows 10 and 11
• Terminal Server 2016/2019
• Virtualised Desktop Environments (VDI ) via RDP*, PCoIP and Citrix
• Microsoft .NET 4.5 or higher framework

*Does not support MyPC Public Library Client.

MacOS Client Software Requirements

The MyPC MacOS Client requires the following:

• MacOS 14 or later

Chromebook Client

• Fully supported in Public Library mode.
